Apple Old Fashioned
Ingredients
- 1.5 oz Castle & Key Small Batch Bourbon
- 0.5 oz Laird’s Straight Apple Brandy
- 0.75 oz Spiced Apple Syrup*
- 3 dashes Angostura Bitters
Instructions
Add all ingredients to a mixing glass, add 1 inch cubes, and stir until well incorporated, about 20 seconds. Strain into an old-fashioned glass over a large ice cube, garnish with an apple fan, and dust with cinnamon sugar. For an added effect, hit the cinnamon apple fan with a quick torch to brûlée the cinnamon sugar on top.

- 16 oz Water
- 16 oz Demerara sugar
- 3 Pippin or Granny Smith Apples
- 2-3 Star Anise
- 3 Red Cardamom Pods
- 2 Cinnamon Sticks
- 1 tsp Cloves
- ¼ tsp of Vanilla Extract
Instructions
INGREDIENTS Add water to a saucepan and turn heat on high and when it starts to boil, slowly whisk in the sugar until it fully dissolves. Add in the remaining ingredients, excluding the vanilla extract. Let sit on med/high heat for about 20 min. Remove from heat, add in vanilla extract and strain all ingredients with cheesecloth. *Allow syrup to cool before using in cocktail.
