What forms of payment are accepted?
Cash, credit, and debit are accepted for all experiences and retail purchases. Checks aren't accepted in any capacity.
Are there age restrictions for Castle & Key Distillery's public spaces and Botanical Trail?
Guests under the age of 21 are invited to enjoy our public spaces, Botanical Trail, and Springhouse. Due to the historic and unique nature of our property, all guests under the age of 21 must be supervised at all times by a member of their party who is 21 years of age or older.
Where can I take my alcoholic beverages?
All beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, may be enjoyed anywhere on the public portion of our property. If you are joining us for an experience, you are free to enjoy your beverages for the beginning portion. All beverages, except water in a closed container, must be discarded before you step into the castle. All alcoholic beverages must be discarded before leaving property.
May I bring outside food and drink on the property?
Outside food is welcome on the public portion of our property. No outside beverages, with the exception of water in closed containers, are allowed at this time.
Is outside alcohol allowed at Castle & Key Distillery?
Outside alcoholic beverages are not permitted on site. Light snacks and beverages are available for purchase in The Boiler Room and at Counter 17.
Are pets allowed on Castle & Key Distillery grounds?
Only service animals are allowed on site.
Is Castle & Key Distillery accessible?
Castle & Key is located on historic grounds that date back to the late 1800s. Due to the nature of our grounds, guests with limited mobility may face challenges traversing portions of our pathways and navigating steep inclines. We strive to make our experiences as inclusive as possible to all guests. However, due to the structure of our facility, portions of the experience may be inaccessible to guests requiring certain mobility devices.
Do you allow smoking / vaping?
Smoking / vaping is allowed in designated smoking areas only. Please contact one of our hospitality employees for further detail.
Can I rent out your venue for a styled photoshoot, engagement pictures, etc?

Do you offer distillery tours?

Do you offer tastings?
We are happy to offer tastings of our Restoration Release Gin and Vodka as part of the Castle & Key Experience and the Curated Cocktail Experience.
Is Castle & Key Distillery on the Bourbon Trail?
While we are steeped in bourbon tourism history, we are not a member of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.


Do you allow bookings for large groups?
For groups larger than 16 guests, please contact to book your experience.
What should I do if I am late for my experience?
Please contact our Concierge at 502.395.9070 to see if we can reschedule your reservation for a later time. We do our best to accommodate all guests on site, however, we cannot guarantee your spot on a later experience. If a guest is greater than 15 minutes late to an experience without prior notification, their position on the experience may be opened up to guests who are on our experience waitlist.
Will experiences take place in inclement weather?
Experiences will continue to operate in light rain and complimentary umbrellas will be available for use throughout your experience. Experiences will be delayed or cancelled in the event of heavy rain, strong wind, lightning, or an outside wind chill temperature of 25 degrees or below. Our Concierge will contact you regarding your booking in the event of a cancellation to assist in making appropriate accommodations.

What happens if I do not have a government-issued form of photo identification for my experience?
Guests are required to present a valid ID in order to participate in the tasting following an experience. If a valid ID is forgotten, guests are more than welcome to enjoy the experience, but will not be served during the tasting.
Are there age restrictions for experiences?
All guests participating in our experiences must be 21 years of age or older. No guests under the age of 21, including infants and children, will be allowed on our experiences.


Where can I purchase your product?
A comprehensive list of all bars, restaurants, and retailers carrying our product can be found at our website on the Spirits page. We recommend contacting locations ahead to ensure our product is in stock.
What states are you currently distributing in and what is the future distribution plan?

Counter 17

What are the hours for Counter 17?
Counter 17 will open at 11am and close at 4:30pm from Wednesday to Sunday.
Are there non-alcoholic beverages available?
Yes! At both the Boiler Room and Counter 17 there are non-alcoholic beverages available for purchase.
Do you have to go on an experience to enjoy Counter 17?
No, Counter 17 is open for the public to enjoy provided each guest ordering an alcoholic beverage has a valid ID. Only one drink will be served at a time per ID.
